COVID19 Pandemic Compassionate Release Request Court Docs
Soon after it was realized that COVID19 was a global pandemic, Reality Winner submitted her request for compassionate release, having served over half of her 63-month sentence. In comparison to Micheal Cohen, who was released to serve the remainder of his 3-year sentence in home confinement after serving only a third of his time in prison, it’s hard to see Reality’s denial as anything but unfair & biased. Not only did she receive a harsher sentence for notifying the public of Russian interference while Cohen was wrapped up in the coverup, but she’s also been denied finishing her sentence in home confinement during a global pandemic, thus risking her life now, not just her freedom.
